2006 REVALUATION INFORMATION
As required by New Hampshire Law, the City of Portsmouth Assessor's Office is beginning verifications of assessment information for all properties throughout the City for the 2006 revaluation. A representative from this office will be in your neighborhood within the next year.

An inspection of each property requires verification of exterior measurements, as well as interior information. A data collector will arrive at each property and ask an adult permission to inspect the interior of the home and any other buildings. If no one is home, all accessible buildings will have the exteriors measured and recorded on the City assessment record cards. All data collectors will wear City of Portsmouth identification cards. Please do not hesitate to verify a card if you have any doubts.

The Assessor's Office will mail letters to notify each property owner when a collector will be in your area. New Assessments will be effective April 1, 2006, and will be reflected on the November 2006 tax bill. Each property owner will receive the new assessment prior to receiving the tax bill.
